“I use alternative photo processes, low-lighting, and magnification to find whimsical images or abstract patterns in natural and found objects. Minimal lighting creates suggestions and silhouettes. Extreme magnification creates patterns that our eyes rearrange into recognizable forms. Alternative photo processes create unexpected luminescence. Uncovering something unexpected is part of my process; I don’t know how a piece will look until it is finished. I (usually) enjoy the surprises.”
Anne Ross began exhibiting photography in 2007. Since then her work has traveled around the Bay Area, to Miami, and to Budapest.
