Alex Nizovsky is an artist, designer, and biologist of Russian descent, who focuses on the beauty of living organisms. He utilizes archetypes and symbols from different cultures to emphasize various aspects of stunning diversity of living creatures. The art he makes express his passionate engagement with the beautiful forms of insects and their relatives. Alex possesses an eye for their color, shapes, patterns, and textures. He has found a lot of inspiration photographing and observing those insects in nature. His new art project WWW.BUGSUR.COM is devoted to creation of the fantastic worlds of surrealistic creatures which are all based on natural forms. Alex’s goal is to show the hidden beauty of living organisms to everyone.
Alex’s favorite medium is acrylic on canvas. He is intrigued by a multitude of possibilities while working with interference and iridescent paints, and glittering materials. The combination of traditional media and contemporary art approaches give him possibilities for unlimited creativity. He also use mixed media materials (paper, cardboard, prints and glass) to produce collage type works.
