Artist Bio
Douglas Yee is a native San Franciscan, educated in the Fine Arts and Architecture. He is an abstract and figurative oil painter that creates intense personal moments, masterfully creating sensations of the past and of the present, sparking the viewer’s senses not only visually, but also ethereally. The collected consciousness is confronted as an aesthetic concept for memory and its projection. The mergence of the realm of memory and the realm of experience defined seduces the viewer into a world of ongoing equilibrium, a sense of mystery and quietude.
Artist Statement
My paintings tell a simple story about my life, and all the struggles that I have endured and overcome. It is about the human experience, the emotions, and what it means to me to be alive in the 21st Century. My paintings come from my heart, to the paintbrush, and then onto the canvas.
